Bible Text: Joshua 1:9 | Preacher: Donnie Case | Series: Courageous | When Jesus said take up your cross and follow me, he wasn’t talking about the cross metaphorically as a symbol of some burden to carry in one’s life such as a strained relationship, a thankless job, or a physical illness. When Jesus carried His cross to be crucified no one was thinking of the cross as a symbol of burden. No, it meant one thing: death by the most painful and humiliating means human beings had developed.
