“The word “Tenebrae” comes from the Latin meaning “darkness”. This solemn service is an ancient Christian Good Friday service where candles are gradually extinguished throughout the evening to symbolize the events of the week in between Palm Sunday entry through Jesus’ burial. It’s a meaningful time creating tension and anticipation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Even though we cannot gather to take part in the Tenebrae service in person, this video serves as a way for us to reflect together.
